Swed-Weld, a portfolio company of Scania Growth Capital, has been acquired by Atlas Copco. Swed-Weld is a leading producer of add-on equipment to automated manufacturing cells. The company is based in Värnamo in Sweden and its primary product is feeding machines for screws and nuts, which are an important part of the robot cells that are used in modern manufacturing. Swed-Weld will become a part of the Motor Vehicle Industry division of Atlas Copco.
“This acquisition will complement our current product portfolio with an addition of parts and screw feeding capability which will increase the capability of Industrial Technique assembly tools division” said Henrik Elmin, Business Area President for Industrial Technique.
“In a world with limited resources, the manufacturing industry needs to do more with less. By using automation and smart assembly, the industry can become more efficient and decarbonize its operations.”
“We are very happy to become members of the “Atlas Family” and to continue to develop and expand our product offering in the Atlas Copco Group” said Peter Sprigg, CEO of Swed-Weld.
